The VIII Elements of Design

The VIII elements of design..

 I. Line: A line can either straight, curved, or dashed!!

II. Direction: Direction is either vertical, horizontal, or any other direction you can think of!

III. Shape:The shape of a line is formed by either a straight, curved or combo line. 
ex: (


IV. Size: size matters
ex: ----------------------------------------------------


V. Colour: Colour (the u makes it fancy) is selected from any variety of colours being combined to make a fancy colour.
ex: ================ (white line, or two black lines?)


VI. Tone: The feeling your colors and shapes give off.
ex: a dark blue frowny face could symbolize a stick figure being drowned. which is sad. right? =(


VII. Texture: The quality your work is shown in. 
ex: is your artwork made on the finest of silks, strung by the Exotic Atlantian Water Worms?


VIII. Mass: The objects need a 3-dimensional property, something to define its existence.

Now lets try combining multiple laws!

  1. Not a useless paper. you need to understand the elements so you use them well. Otherwise your art has no meaning or depth. Importance is realitive. Open your mind please Alex.
